Seriously stop... The Islanders lost.. it was no ones fault other then the Islanders, this was a win they should have won with a depleted Jets lineup & the Isles took this slam dunk at home & cr@ped the bed.

Sorry Jets fans for this blog, Well deserved win!

sorry that last "high stick" on conachar technically wasnt a high stick due to it being on the follow though. although i belive that it should be called. the NHL keeps flip flopping the rules on that every season or so it seems... based on this years rules that was a non penalty. and i agree that it was bs that kuli was give the misconduct and Scheifele wasnt even given a penalty for his hit is bs. what really set me off was the penalty called on jt. guy ducks down to try to skate under jts stick and jt gets sent to the box. COME ON REFS! but in the end. this game comes down to bad defense and disgusting goaltending halak should have made at least 3 saves on goals that went in.

the Islanders had the first three powerplays of the game and failed to break the game open.

They also had a powerplay in the last 5 minutes with a chance to tie it up.

OMG, stop complaining about the officiating already.

agreed , the Kully hit was dangerous , luckily the guy was ok , those are the types of hits that cause necks to be broke. I am have refereed hockey for 20 years I have no problem with that call at all.

Even if you don't like the call the Islanders did tie the game up and had every opportunity to win the game. I agree with the first post sour grapes!

Kulemin's hit was viscous and if you think Stuart sold it then you don't know who Mark Stuart is.

The hit on Hickey wasn't even close to the same, watch how Hickey jumps up with the hit then falls to the ice like a sack of potatoes and IMMEDIATELY looks up to find a ref.

The islanders must actually feel like they're stuck on a island and the only way off is diving off a cliff..... Starting to look like the Vancouver Canucks over there....

Generally when fans blame the refs, it's because they don't want to admit their team got rolled.

Stuart "sold it"? really?
- HankdaTank

have to agree here, that hit on stuart, while not from behind (he hit him from the side) was in a dangerous position and if it had been against the Isles I would have been yelling for 5 and a game as well. I have no problem with the call.

simply put, we weren't strong enough around our net (strait allowing repeated whacks from postma on the 2nd power play goal against) and we played lazy in the third, okposo's turnover and lazy skate back cost us the game.

I can see people ripping halak for the third goal, but he also made about 4-5 saves that would have gone in last year. We're not playing well defensively at all.

it's just her. check dan's blog, no one is even talking about the refs. Kulemin's 5 and a game was the right call.

5 and a misconduct was the right call based on the rules...but viscous....come on man. It can be argued that Kulemin took an elbow on that hit. There was no ill intent....it was a hockey collision. The right call was made on the ice, the Jets outplayed the Islanders, and that's why the outcome was what it was. No excuses, but calling it viscous implies intent. That's just silly.

When approaching a player 6 feet from the boards and you decide to not only hit that player but drive him towards the boards, it's intent. It's not like Stuart turned into the hit or put himself in a vulnerable position. Kulemin knew what he was doing when he hit him and didn't let up at all through the hit, that's intent my friend.

Big hitting Clutterbuck went over like a peewee player when buff ran into him and you're questioning the diving statement? I'm throwing Hickey and Martin in there too for their performances.

Oh my god. Beat it, loser.

Pass along the message to Stewie that he left his speedo at the Coli and to stop taking his diving lessons from Greg Louganis.

Please. We're talking Kulemin here....not Trevor Gillies. There was no intent. It was a collision. Again, it was the right call given the rules.

He shoved him from the side 2 min def not a 5. The martin "diving" call was what was atrocious. Bad goals and D led to the loss oooooooo and of course BRIAN STRAIT. Can't wait for hammer to come back so he can be sent to the bench. Then once stoneHands McGremlin comes back we can maybe move Lee or some one to the top line and end the Conchar experiment,

I dont know why Gremlin has to come back for them to put Lee on the first line.

Its obvious that JT cant make EVERY player that plays with him special. Conacher is making me miss brad boyes...

Not one to knock Capuano and Weight but could be a case where he was outcoached by Maurice, a coach with a ton of NHL experience. Goring pointed out the Jets neutral zone play was outstanding.

The Kulemin hit did look dangerous but even if he got a 2 minute minor instead of five, they scored in the first minute so it would have cost them either way.

Halak like Johnson making great saves but consistency still has to improve as they work with the D.

WIN looks like a solid team and they did badly outshoot us.

The loss is not a total loss if the coaches and players learn from it.

Absolutely he was out coached! Was that even in question??! And what makes u think he'll learn from this game? He's made the sane bone headed decisions for multiple seasons, and makes mistakes an average fan can recognize. It's unreal to me he's an nhl coach, let alone one at all.
